I agree so far. Where is the rest of the talk by Canon Harmon? Is there a part III?

Yes indeed, Fr. Dale! I don’t want to clutter the blog with each and every section all posted on one day so I decided to post a section per day.  If you simply trade out the last number of the post for the next one, you can glide gracefully through the entire talk at one sitting.

I’m so glad that Kendall+ made sure to affirm that this controversy “is” about sex. He also said it is about much more than sex too…but his words are important for those orthodox who want to run away from the fact that sex is central to the present fight. To deny the biblical commands regarding sex is to deny something central to Christianity.

Canon Harmon lists other things below the waterline including authority, marriage, Scripture and the Gospel. I know Fr. Matt that you see sex as very important in this. I have thought about it for some time now and agree with Canon Harmon that TEC is proclaiming another gospel. I also believe the deeper he goes, the more he sees each issue he names as having increasing importance. For me there is an even deeper level and that is Christology. The late Walter Martin said in the “kingdom of the Cults” that the common denominator of all cults pretending to be Christian was that Jesus Christ was not God but “a god”. To me this is the spirit of the Anti Christ continually assaulting the Christian Church. Sadly, I do not believe that most of the Christology we find in Scripture, the creeds and tradition is embraced by TEC leadership.
