No Co Ever - Episode 1 on the Train Wreck of the Elephant Room 2
A couple of months back you may have noticed the woeful Elephant Room 2 where a small number of prominent evangelical leaders, including Mark Driscoll, gave a free pass to modalist and prosperity gospel advocate T.D. Jakes. Rather than deal with the elephant of Jakes’ various heresies they skirted around the central points of contention.
Partly in response No Compromise Radio have formed No Compromise: Ever (NoCoEver) with their own panel of James White, Carl Trueman and Phil Johnson. Here’s the first of their recorded discussions. Some great material here on Jakes himself and the wider malaise that led to the ER2 debacle.

I have a friend who, thankfully, came out of the Reformed Baptist movement and was involved in James White’s “Alpha Omega Ministries.” I’m afraid if I forward this video to him, he could go into a Truly Reformed relapse and the results will not be pretty. So I think I will just keep this to myself.

Carl Trueman is good stuff, though.

what’s the perceived problem with the Reformed Baptists?

Thank God for this group. I was wary of Elephant Room 1. Elephant Room 2 was like watching a microcosm of TEC’s seduction - like giving a pass to Pike.

I can’t work the video where I am at present, but in general it sounds good that Christian leaders are ready to watch each other’s doctrine carefully and keep each other accountable.

RE: “I have a friend who, thankfully, came out of the Reformed Baptist movement . . . “
No kidding—I agree, wyclif. Since I know this could take the thread off-topic, I’d be very interested in hearing your thoughts by private email if you’re up for it, and I’ll add as well.

David: I think the problem is obviously their view that the children of Christians shouldn’t be baptised. I think that’s a rather serious problem, esp. for Anglicans.
But I think overall the tone of “Truly Reformed” apologetics is off-kilter, and I wish they would adopt a position closer to historical Christendom in its conciliar form.

I love Reformed Baptists…I just wouldn’t want to be one. Part of the beauty and glory of Reformed theology is good wine and cigars and beauty and great food. The Baptist stuff takes all the fun out of it.

I’m with Matt, both in his expression of love and his complaint
