Foolish Consistency

I’ve seen several of these videos now, and the conclusion I’ve come to is that the Democrats made no effort to weed out the far left loons, the incipient authoritarians, and the downright foolish among their activists. They figured it didn’t matter who actually went to the convention, since the result was fore-ordained, and so if crazies signed up to be delegates, what difference would it make? In fact, it would be better, since we’re talking about true believers impervious to either logic or reality. What they clearly didn’t bank on was media outlets such as Reason (or even the Daily Show!) coming in and exposing to public view the grad school zombies and psych ward veterans who comprise all too much of their base.

Can’t tell you how much watching these DNC videos reminds me of Episcopal General Convention deputies.

David, I’m a little puzzled at your assertion…why would the Democrats attempt to weed these people out when they are the ones running the show?  Do you forget the warm embrace of the running crime wave known as “Occupy” by top Democrats?  The close friendships with domestic terrorists?  These full-blown authoritarians aren’t some fringe group, they are the core of the Democratic Party these days.  This is no longer the party of Sam Nunn, Scoop Jackson and Pat Moynihan, but of George McGovern.

And Sarah, I’d be shocked if you could slip a tissue paper between the two groups on 99.9% of the issues.  You might get some mild divergance on whether Whatizname existed 2,000 years ago and, if he did, whether He would have blessed homosexual marriage or whether He woud have gone full-pansexual, but that’s about it.

DNC and TEC cut from the same cloth, no doubt…hey they even have 3 letters in their names.
