DePaul President: “Black Lives Matter—Unborn Lives Don’t”

So it has come to this: at the largest Catholic University in America, the administration plasters “Black Lives Matter” posters on its windows, but denies permission to put up posters proclaiming “Unborn Lives Matter” for the reason that they would subject students to bigotry ... under the cover of ‘free speech’.

If the God of PC has supplanted the Creator God on Catholic campuses, how will the next generation ever know how to worship Him?

It might be hard to imagine this happening at a “Catholic” university, but this kind of thing has been documented at a number of esrtwhile Catholic universities. It demonstrates the constant threat the Church faces from forces trying to chip away at its roots.

The world is truly upside down

DePaul is generally understood to be post-Catholic—more so than almost any other once-Catholic educational institution in the United States.

There are basically two kinds of schools which bookend the spectrum of Catholic education in this country: the “Catholic in name only” schools like Georgetown and DePaul, and the “seriously Catholic” schools like Ave Maria, Christendom College, Thomas Aquinas, etc (Catholic University of America would probably be closer to this group).

There is certainly a wide swath of institutions between those poles, but you’ll probably note that some of those more conservative institutions are more recently established. There is a lot of money, effort and time going into the building of faithful Catholic higher ed, and those schools are attracting many young students.

Since a disproportionate number of the babies killed by abortion in this country are black, this means that for this CINO university, black lives don’t matter—in the womb.

Yet another formerly respected institution killed and gutted by the Left.  Do they really think that the columns can all be kicked out and the roof will remain aloft?
